Creating A Modern & Elegant Concept Bathroom With hansgrohe

I recently had the absolute pleasure of being asked to create a small concept bathroom for innovative and world-renowned bathroom specialists, hansgrohe. For 120 years, The Hansgrohe Group have been leaders in cutting-edge bathroom & kitchen technology, developing the first hand-held shower with multiple spray types, the first wall bar with sliding shower rail, and the first pull-out kitchen tap. Their intelligent functionality is combined alongside state-of-the-art design and a durable quality, as well as smart solutions that help preserve water and energy.
New to their extensive range of bathroom fixtures and fittings is Rainfinity: an ultra-modern shower design featuring a large-scale circular showerhead that wraps and surrounds the body with water. It can also be tilted between ten and thirty degrees - eliminating the need for a traditional shower arm. It was this piece that hansgrohe asked me to create a concept bathroom around, and I chose the crisp, fresh-looking Matt White finish for my design scheme.
As modern bathroom design has long been affiliated with sleek, sharp lines and all-black fixtures, I felt that the lighter, brighter Matt White finish of Rainfinity - along with its pleasing curves - offered the opportunity to create a more delicate, elegant design scheme that still felt overtly contemporary. For my concept bathroom, I paired my favourite elements of sumptuous, traditional bathroom design - panelling and luxurious wallpaper - alongside modern furniture and accessories to complement the stylish edge of Rainfinity. I felt that the combination of a backdrop of a time-honoured, classic style, alongside a softer, modern shower fitting, created the perfect mix of the best of old and new.
As well as the Matt White Finish - which looks striking against the graphite-coloured spray discs - what I also liked about the Rainfinity design is that the head, control panel and outlet can all be hosted irregularly on the wall in a preferred position of choice. This removes the requirement for a structured bathroom design - where the shower has a designated placement area and dictates the entire decor scheme. Instead, Rainfinity offers decor flexibility, as both the wall mural and panelling does not have to be sectioned off or interrupted.
The concave spray surface of the Rainfinity shower head offers three spray models: PowderRain, Intense PowderRain and RainStream. Water is cascaded via a diffused arrangement of jet disc holes at varying intensities for a bespoke wellness experience. An add-on is the versatile shoulder shower - a shelf shower jet that keeps the face and hair dry and concentrates just on the body. In my concept bathroom, I decided to include the Rainfinity hand-held shower head with holder and shelf in accompanying Matt White.
As well as Matt White, hangrohe’s Rainfinity also comes as an option in Chrome and Matt Black, plus a variety of size options (the largest shower head - as seen in my concept bathroom- measures 360mm). For a harmonious bathroom design, hansgrohe has also introduced WallStoris and Addstoris: an accompanying system of hooks, rails and storage systems that will enable you to obtain a completely cohesive bathroom scheme, without requiring the mixing of unmatched hardware.
Alongside my concept bathroom, the wonderful stylists Dee Camping and Laura Hunter also designed and produced their own concept schemes alongside hansgrohe’s FinishPlus Raindance overhead and hand shower in brushed bronze, and the Raindance Select S thermostatic shower mixer in Matt Black:
