Easter Table Setting Ideas And Decorations
One of my favourite parts of styling my home for Easter is dressing the table! In this post, I am going to share with you my tips, craft ideas and inspiration for creating a pretty Easter/spring tablescape.
Use natural materials to evoke rustic easter charm
Use natural materials like table runners made from jute or hessian as a base for table decor. These can be purchased relatively inexpensively, but they centre the table and add interest on top of a simple, white tablecloth. Wood slices make great coasters, plus they can be used as a base for decorative spring bulbs in terracotta pots.
DIY spring napkins with Ric Rac ribbon
Spruce up plain white cotton napkins with Ric Rac ribbon in pastel and spring-like colours. Use a no-sew glue to attach the ribbon at each edge of the napkin. These napkins can then be washed and stored away for next year, so there is no need to buy disposable spring-themed napkins.
Decorate Eggs for Personalised Place Settings
Here, I have used paintable, ceramic eggs, but you could also use hard-boiled eggs. I painted the eggs using leftover tester pot paint, applied a layer of clear PVA glue all over once the paint was dry, then wrapped a sheet of gold leaf around the egg. Once the glue was dry, I removed excess gold leaf with a stiff, dry paintbrush. For the name tag, I used eyelet kraft paper tags and stamped on the name using a basic stamping kit. I attached the tag to the egg with raffia.
Add colour with spring bulbs and flowers
Layer colour onto your table by placing on it small glass jars containing inexpensive spring flowers such as Narcissus and tulips. Hyacinth bulbs look great in small terracotta pots and can be placed around the home on windowsills afterwards for a decorative touch.
