Read MoreParma Violet sweets, Care Bears and My Little Pony toys are all reminiscent of the colour lilac from my childhood. The soft, light-purple hue has historically adorned children’s goods rather than take centre stage in our homes, yet lilac and lavender shades are set to be huge within interior design for 2020.
Read MoreIn the past 3 weeks, I have painted 2 interior doors in my home in deep, vibrant shades. The door in my young son’s bedroom I painted in a cobalt blue. While our previously cream basement door got a lick of rich, red burgundy. Safe to say that I am a HUGE fan of the painted interior door trend. Painting an interior door in a bold shade is an easy way to add vibrant colour into your home, without having to commit to painting all the walls in a domineering hue.

It has been a delight. As a lover of colour and a pretty flower, there is nowhere better to soak-up a sunshine filled day. The show is also attended by the creative elite - from interior and furniture designers to actors and musicians - the show provides incredible inspiration and sows the seed (if you will) to many new designs and ideas. This year there were a few key themes, messages and colours which I think will infiltrate the way we design and style our homes, plus affect the purchases we make.
Read MoreIf you follow me on Instagram you'll see that I've recently painted a very large rainbow mural in a nursery for a client of mine. While searching the internet for a window treatment to match the rainbow wall, I came across this image below by the shutter company Shutterly Fabulous. Isn't it brilliant?? I love how each different colour louvre creates a rainbow effect down the shutter. On a side note, shutters are also really great for a child's room as there are no hanging cords or reams of fabric for them to get themselves dangerously caught up in.
