Picturebook II from Villa Nova is the second collection of wallcoverings, fabrics, trimmings and home accessories created in collaboration with renowned children’s book illustrators Frann Preston-Gannon, Christopher Corr and Yuval Zommer. The extensive range of prints and patterns available are both enchanting and whimsical, with magical depictions of the natural world in the form of animals, nature, space and the sea.

Little Greene has also launched Storybook Papers - a collection of eight new wallpaper designs with a light-hearted adventure into childhood’s past. Inspired by archive material conserved and cared for by The National Trust, the patterns capture the charm and character of a broad range of historic artefacts; early and mid-twentieth-century toys, decorative fabrics and original artworks - including several by the beloved children’s author Beatrix Potter.

“It’s wonderful to think that these beautiful pieces of history, including toys, children’s illustrations, and fabrics, have now been transformed by the design team into wallpapers that will find their way into contemporary homes, bringing joy for years to come” says Ruth Mottershead, Creative Director at Little Greene.

The animals featured in this mural titled Riverside Capers were originally painted by the children’s illustrator Cecil Aldin. Aldin was known for his cartoonish animal depictions and was published alongside literary works by Charles Dickens and Rudyard Kipling. Image Credit: Little Greene.

Featuring riverside and woodland murals, repetitive tree patterns and cartoon car prints, one of my favourite designs from Storybook Papers is the Herdwick Sheep: a flocked design with raised textured detail.
