Discover the Enchanting English Garden Pressed Flower Rug Collection by Knots Rugs
I have to admit that I find choosing rugs for my home really hard. As an important layer that should complement and tie together an entire room scheme, it can feel like an impossible task to get right. A rug that is too dark or too busy can drag down a room, while a rug that is too plain or too light will do nothing for a space. This is why when I discover a good rug, I want to shout about it; so today on the blog I bring you the incredible forthcoming rug collaboration between Knots Rugs and Charlotte Krone, launching in October 2024.
The English Country Garden Collection will be a release of five rug designs taken from original artworks by Charlotte Krone of Rediscovered By, who specialises in historical textile techniques and who I first discovered at London Design Week 2023. For this collection for London-based rug brand Knots Rugs, Charlotte flocked and foiled flowers from the walled gardens of English manor Keythorpe Hall that were then sensitively reinterpreted by Knots Rugs, with the designs including depictions of snapdragons, lupin seeds, carnelians, sweet peas, nigella, cornflowers, delphiniums and cosmos.
Knots Rugs founder Bonnie, says: “I was looking to add a floral element to our existing art collections and was drawn to Charlotte’s work which has a soft, delicate sensibility. The use of colour and historical techniques Charlotte employs to achieve her work are fascinating. For this collection she has used flowers from the walled gardens of Keythorpe Hall which are hand pressed and printed in their original form with a sensitive interplay of colour – we are thrilled with the results.”
My favourite rug in the collection by far is the Sweet Pea print. The rug is made in 100 knots per inch 75% Tibetan Wool and 25% silk.
To discover the English Country Garden collection for yourself, head down to Decorex in London between the 6th and the 9th of October 2024.
