Get inspiration From This Stunning Luxury Wood and Marble deVOL Kitchen
Kitchens with a stylish yet casual feel about them always attract my attention; when this Margate-based deVOL kitchen popped into my inbox, I couldn’t resist pouring over the images.
Featuring a rich wood island the colour of walnut topped with a chunky slab of heavily-veined marble, this focal piece is surrounded by shaker units in neutral tones, ornate cornicing and elegant Georgian windows. I’m also a particular fan of the scuffed-up lighter wood doors; these contrast nicely with the darker tones found on the floor and the preparation area.
This English coast kitchen (which belongs to @liserikssondesign) is simple and timeless. Nothing in its design speaks to trends, yet it feels effortlessly modern at the same time. The slimline legs of the barstools do not block the textures and grains of the island, while the white cutlery on show behind the glass storage areas stops it from feeling ‘blocky’ or too dominating.
Off-white shaker cabinets, walls and tiles keep the island the main focus of the room and lean away from the latest kitchen cabinet colour trends, which ultimately results in repainting a few years down the line.
Vintage mirrors, an opulent chandelier and botanical artwork finish off the design, while that undermount gold sink is the utmost in understated glamour.
