5 Stylish Dining Chairs For Under £150
The wonderful thing about dining chairs is that they can be multi-functional and placed in various locations throughout the home, rather than just used for ‘dining’. Their compact frame compared to armchairs or accent chairs make them the perfect choice for a dressing chair in a small bedroom. If you are not a fan of clunky office chairs on wheels, then a stylish dining chair is a great option to pair with a modern desk. Dining chairs also work well in hallways if a place to sit is required, as well dense, empty areas of your home that ‘just need a little something’ placed in it.
I’ve focused on dining chairs under £150 each in this post as if you do actually need dining chairs for dining and are looking to buy four or more, then going over £150 for each chair starts becoming expensive for something that will ultimately have food and drink spilled down it.
Below, I’ve listed five impeccably stylish dining chairs for under £150. Any of these can be used around the dining table, but they also work well in other spots around the home.
HK Living Dining Chair - £147
HK Living are currently one of the most desirable brands out there for interior lovers. Their cobalt blue conical lamps, cane storage cupboards and ribbed-base dining tables are used by stylists and interior designers alike and they feature everywhere from the top interior magazines, to the most stylish homes on Instagram. Thankfully, this on-trend brand is a lot more competitively priced than a lot of their Dutch counterparts and their range of lipped dining chairs are a great buy. All chairs come with a steel black metal frame, but you have a choice of off-white, grey, sand, pink or patterned upholstery. Prices start at £147 per chair via Nunido.
IKEA ODGER Dining Chair - £70
Even though it has been around since 2017, the IKEA ODGER chair is still one of the best dining chair options out there. Created as part of a collaboration with Swedish design studio Form Us With Love, the chair is composed of recycled wood chips and recycled plastic which give it a visually interesting appearance. Available in seven colourways, it’s sustainable and stylish for a very reasonable price tag.
House Doctor Comma Chair - £115
House Doctor are a Danish brand who sell lovely lighting and home accessories - with their great value Comma chairs being another highlight in the brands’ catalogue. The polyester upholstery looks like velvet and can be unzipped for an easier clean; while the thin black legs keep this fabric chair from feeling bulky. The Comma chair comes in a range of colours, but I am a particular fan of the rusty red. Available to purchase via Smallable for £115.
West Elm Baltimore Dining Chair - £139
If you favour a wooden dining chair then this Baltimore Dining Chair from West Elm is surprisingly good value. It comes with a hard-wearing Twill padded seat, which makes it look more expensive as well as inevitably being more comfortable. Wooden chairs tend to not come cheap and West Elm are not what I would call a ‘low-price’ brand, so this mid-century modern style chair is a good find and the price is a nice surprise.
Woood Ivy Dining Chair In Black Velvet - £124
Woood (with three ‘o’s - it’s not a typo!) are another Dutch brand that I have only recently discovered. I love the clean lines of this Ivy Dining Chair and the fact it also has arms means that it makes a great bedroom chair. If you add arms onto a dining chair (or any chair for that matter) the price tends to increase, but at £124 with free shipping via Nunido, this is a bargain-buy. The perfect chair for a modern, monochrome scheme, it would also make a great ‘work from home’ chair, as per the image above.
So, five stylish chairs that can be used at the dining table or anywhere else in the home, but which one is your favourite?
