The Must-Have Items From The New AW21 Interior & Home Collections

There has been a flurry of new home decor collections over the past few weeks for autumn/winter 2021. If you fancy a little change up for the forthcoming season (or even a complete home overhaul), then here are some bits that have recently caught my eye.

H&M Home Release A Pastel Collection

If it wasn't black/grey/white/beige, chances are you wouldn’t find it in H&M Home. The popular high street homeware brand usually embraces the modern ‘Scandi-neutral’ look that has huge mainstream appeal. Therefore, it makes a nice change to see a pop of colour within their new interior pastel collection. Only available online, the vases and the candlesticks are the standout pieces (but do hurry - they will sell out fast).

The New Edited Life Collection By Dunelm

While many high street shops have taken a huge hit post-pandemic, two brands appear to be absolutely flying: Next (who feature further down this post), and Dunelm. I’ve noticed in the past couple of years that Dunelm are really quick to jump on interior trends and offer affordable versions of desirable products, long before their competitors catch up (Dunelm was selling cane and jute lamps when the only other alternative was to invest in a high-end version or DIY it). Within their new AW21 Edited Life collection, they are offering brilliant value Scandi-inspired light wood sideboards, bed frames, and sturdy wishbone-style chairs.

These wishbone-style chairs are only £129 each at Dunelm.

Dunelm has also branched out into the world of paint and wallpaper. For only £16, you can pick up a 2.5 litre pot of their matt emulsion (or £15 for 1L of eggshell), while wallpaper starts at just £10 a roll (check out my favourite - Ticking Natural Striped ).

Dunelm are now offering a full decorating range including paint and wallpaper.

The Shape And Surface Collection by Next

The trend for natural form home accessories and curved furniture has been embraced by Next with their Shape & Surface collection. For AW21, find affordable faux sheepskin sofas, modern fluted sideboards, and sculptural vases.

Silhouette Ceramic Vase and round candlestick holder, both Next.

Heal’s Discovers for LDF 2021

Since 2004, the prestigious Heal’s Discovers program has given a platform to designers identified by Heal’s as rising stars within the industry. This year - combined with London’s Design Festival - Heal’s has picked five designers to showcase and stock online and in-store. Find recycled glass vases from Lea Randebrock, sculptural timber mirrors crafted by Kieran Letts, vintage-inspired artwork from Print Sisters, West-African-inspired cushions by Amechi, and hand-sculpted vases from Annabel Cucuz.

Limited edition prints from Print Sisters via Heal’s, who rework and revive vintage artwork for the modern consumer market. The Savona sideboard is also new for AW21.

CRAFTED™ by Crown: New Luxurious Flat Matt Emulsion

I have to admit I really fell in love with Crown Paints when I used the colour ‘Flawless’ from the Crown x Elle Decoration range in my bedroom at home. The coverage was fantastic, and I’m constantly asked about the shade on Instagram. This month, Crown has released a new collection: CRAFTED™ by Crown - 48 new shades in a luxurious flat matt emulsion, that also include textured suede and metallic finishes.

Top: Chocolate Suede Textured wall paint; Middle: Copper Lustrous Metallic Emulsion; Bottom: Walls and woodwork painted in shades from the blue family of Luxurious Flat Matt Emulsion. All CRAFTED™ by Crown.

Henry Holland x Freemans

Designer Henry Holland has teamed up with Freemans for an exclusive home collection titled Modern Living. Available to purchase from the 4th of October, many pieces from the collection - which includes furniture as well as textiles and decorative objects - caught my eye. Featuring fluted mint green side tables and reeded glass cabinets, Modern Living appears to be inspired by current high-end Danish designs. Liberty London - who stock a range of Henry’s ceramics - recently told me that everything he designs is an instant sell-out, so expect Modern Living to be no exception.

Following the success of the first wallpaper collection, Little Greene has released a second collaboration with Europe’s largest conservation charity, the National Trust. Based on original patterns from the National Trust’s historic houses, there are 42 colourways across seven new designs.
