Even though Pure Scandi offer four key front styles, it is the ‘Painted’ collection that they have teamed up with leading wallpaper supplier Murals to present a number of beautiful lifestyle images of kitchen settings. The collaboration couldn’t be more perfect.  Kitchens can be an area of the home where we really do not take a risk. Even the boldest pattern and colour lovers tend to lean towards a ‘safe’, sanitary kitchen devoid of any intensity of decor scheme. The temptation to ‘play it safe’ and fill a plain kitchen with clutter to make it visually appealing is a mistake people often make. For somewhere as practical and functional as a kitchen, surfaces should be clear and the kitchen itself should be the centre of attention. I’m obsessed with the layer of interest that Murals wallpaper provides in these Pure Scandi x Murals press images. The patterns work so well alongside the rich colours of the painted fronts. And before you question if it is even possible to have wallpaper in a kitchen, in my previous home I put up a really expensive wallpaper in the kitchen and everyone thought I was crazy. People immediately had visions of pasta sauce stains and red wine spills soaked in the paper within weeks. Well, to be fair, it may not be the best idea of you are a particularly messy cook, but my wallpaper was on the end wall of the units and I lashed a good few coats of Decorators Varnish over the top. Even though I now rent out that flat to tenants, the wallpaper is still in as good condition as the day I hung it.

Some of the thirteen Scandi-inspired paint colours that Pure Scandi offer include olive greens, blues, on trend ‘new neutral’ beige and of course, dusky rose or light plaster pinks. However, if you have a particular colour in mind then Pure Scandi can colour match it for you. The paint is applied with a state-of-the-art sprayline technology for a seamless finish and no brush marks. A nice touch is that the edges of the fronts are left bare so that you can see each layer to the ply (unless you want them to paint over it, as they offer a bespoke service).

If you’d rather go raw, then Pure Scandi fronts also come as Exposed Birch Ply, Limed Grain, Oak Veneered Plywood, Exposed Oak or Exposed Ply in a variety of styles. All standard unit doors are a strong 22mm thick. Unsurprisingly, it’s the coloured option that makes my heart sing the most. I love the lighter Scandi hues of the pinks and the warm neutrals against the Hairpin and Portrait wallpaper designs available from Murals, which takes the look from being Scandi to also having that L.A. , Sarah Sherman Samuel vibe about it.

All the press imagery featured here has the ‘Ladbrooke’ style of door front, distinguished by the cut out circular handle. This is my favourite handle design, but you can choose from a range of cut out handle options, or get the doors pre-drilled to host your own handle choice.
