5 Of The Best Bed Frames
I’ve not done a ‘best of’ round up for a while, so this week I thought I’d delve into bed frames. Although the online market is saturated with beds, you always just get pages and pages of the same design. Choice is often limited to the plain wood frame, the metal frame or the fabric option with a button headboard. The 5 bed frames that I want to present to you today go above and beyond the ‘basic bed’ design and are real hero pieces that won’t just disappear in a bedroom decor scheme.
THE BEST FOR THE ‘HOTEL LUXE’ LOOK: THE THEA WING BED BY WEST ELM
I love this bed for the deep element of luxury that it evokes. The headboard curves round slightly, making it feel really cosy and cocooning. The Thea collection by West Elm, which also includes armchairs and sofas, is available in both pink and grey but the bed is only available in grey at the moment. Grey is probably the best choice in terms of longevity (if like me you change up your bedroom wall colour constantly,) but I know I would be so tempted by the pink if it was an option.
Thea Wing Bed, West Elm, available as a King or Super King, from £999
BEST ON TREND BED: THE EULIA BED BY MADE.COM
Talking of pink, this Eulia bed from Made.com has all the trends wrapped up in one. Yes, it’s a gorgeous shade of blush pink, but it is also velvet and has gold legs. It’s also not a bad price as it is currently in the sale for £379 for a King.
Eulia Bed By Made.com, available as a double, king and super king, from £379 (current sale price)
BEST STATEMENT BED AT A HIGH STREET PRICE: BEAUMONT FOUR POSTER BED BY THE WHITE COMPANY
Four-poster beds usually come with a four-figure price tag, but this elegant and simple design by The White Company is the perfect mix of traditional but contemporary. The thin black lines mean you get that classic look without it feeling too bulky. That said, make sure you check the height of your ceiling as this bed would not suit low-level spaces.
BEST BUDGET BUY : M&S METAL BED
If Scandi minimalism is your thing and you just want a clean and simple monochrome look, this metal bed from M&S is perfect and staggeringly, is under £100 for a double!!
Metal Bed by Marks & Spencer, £79 for a double.
THE BEST FRESH TAKE ON THE WOODEN BED FRAME: THE GJORA BY IKEA
If you like the look of natural materials but don’t want the standard wood slat or solid block headboard, then Ikea have created a slightly exotic-looking wooden bed made from untreated wood. I particularly like the heavy feet and the fact that fabric can be hooked or draped at the top or the bottom of the bed to create a headboard or base, should you wish.
The Gjora by Ikea, available as a double or a king, from £200.
So there we are - 5 bed frames with great style, all with a high street price tag. Say no to basic, boring beds!
