Great Design For A Great Price: Focusing On Debenhams Lighting

I've recently found in my interior-design work that I am always including some sort of lighting from high street retailer Debenhams in the design scheme. Clients come to me for help getting great interiors on a budget, and Debenhams have recently been my go-to brand to get incredible lighting that would not look out of place stocked in Heals or The Conran Shop.

Two weeks ago a client came to me to help her achieve the 'dream-look' kitchen she so desired. The kitchen was being renovated, but she did not have much money to spend on the accessories to tie the look together. This image below is one-such inspiration picture of how she wanted her kitchen to look, and I found her replica kitchen pendant lights like this from Debenhams which you can buy now for £36 each!

I think that lighting is so important when you are designing a room, you have to consider all the different types of lighting that should feature in a space. This includes background lighting (your main source of light when there is no natural light), task lighting (such as reading lights) to atmospheric lighting (well-positioned table and floor lamps).

A couple of weeks ago I spotted the Debenhams Jaden Pendant and fell in love! I put it all over Twitter and Instagram stories and consequently it is now out of stock! However, the Debenhams PR team were kind enough to gift me the Jaden if I took up the challenge of decorating it for Easter. I gratefully accepted, and now the Jaden is pride of place in my hallway:

To decorate it for Easter I wrapped some faux pink cherry blossom around the brass arms, and hung some decorative plastic eggs from them also. And before anyone says 'fire hazard!', this is a one-day decoration only for Easter when the light is switched off!

I absolutely love the Jaden, the balls are real glass, not plastic, so it looks so luxe and like it cost a lot more than the £144 it was on sale at!

Happy Easter!

* Huge thank you to the Debenhams PR team who gifted me the Jaden pendant in exchange for decorating it for Easter Sunday.
